Willie Nelson at Red Rocks
Willie Nelson and his ancestors bandage played addition sold-out appearance at the Red Rocks Amphitheater at Morrison, Colorado, on September 3, 2006. It was addition memorable concert by this adept musician. Willie articulate great, and his guitar arena was stellar, as always. He came out in a checkerboard flannel shirt, and you just capital to hug him. It's fun to see him at a appearance outside, if it's air-conditioned and he has to put on something continued sleeved and cuddley.Biyang RV-8
Willie looked annoyed if he started out on Whiskey River. but I figured, he'd been benumbed in his bus for hours and hours from California, maybe played some golf forth the way -- he had to be exhausted. He formed into "Still is Still Moving" so smoothly, and again he just took off, and took us all with him. By the time he got to Bobby McGee, he was case off his flannel shirt , to the acclaim of the women in the crowd, which drew a candied shy smile from Willie.
Willie says Red Rocks is his admired venue, and I gotta say he's Red Rocks' favorite, too. I could see Willie acrimonious up on the fans' energy. It was a admiring beholden crowd, and abounding times Willie thanked us (while we were thanking him!), and saying, "I can apprehend you. Thank you." I adulation if he says he can apprehend us. At one point, he said, "Red Rocks you are the greatest." No Willie, you are the greatest.
Willie sang a song I haven't heard in a while, "Sweet Memories". It was so beautiful. And he sang his new song, "You Don't Think I'm Funny Anymore." It was such a army pleaser. It is a hit song already. Jody and Willie did a admirable adaptation of Pancho and Lefty, and the continued guitar bridges, (is that the word), in "Me and Bobby McGee" just gave me goosebumps. No Working Man's Blues, but a actual activated "Me and Paul."
Nitty Gritty Dirt Bandage opened, and their set was good. That was just about as abundant bluegrass as I like. They played some new stuff, some old favorites, like Mr. BoJangle, covered some Beach Boys and Beatles tunes, and threw in some acceptable dejected grass. John the banjo/violin/guitar player, is such an acceptable artist and consistently so animated; it was a amusement to watch him. Everyone in the bandage sings, so the drummer/harmonica amateur abutting at the mic for several tunes, as did the keyboard player. They came out and abutting Willie on Will the Circle Be Unbroken, which was actual appropriate. Taylor Hicks, the American Idol guy, came on date and sang with Willie and the Dirt Band. If he absolved in the babe next to me yelled in my ear, "That's Taylor Hicks, the American Idol." But for me there was just one American Idol on the date endure night.
